Oscar Travesties

Okay, so whats the biggest Oscar travesty? I would have to say its the fact that Cuba Gooding Jr. has one of the little guys and Ed Norton does not.
This isn't to say Cuba is a bad actor(he should have won for "Boyz N' The Hood", which was a much better performance in a much better film)but people seem to forget he hasn't put ou jack of a performance since. Ed Norton isn't the best young actor, he is the best actor going today, period.

The biggest oscar loss would have to be Samuel L. Jackson for Pupl Fiction. that was the best role he has ever played and no one in the world could have played it any better. Don't get wrong I think Martin Landau is a good actor but Sammyu deserved the oscar that year. Another travesty would be the phantom menace losing to the matrix in FX categoriy last year. As good as the matrix was, phantom menace is a hundred times better, they did things that were just mind blowing.

It has to be Richard Farnsworth in The Straight Story. He played his character superbly, and made the role moving but not oversentimental.
